(POST 48) - Post filming video diary

We decided to film on two days in order to give ourselves plenty of time to get what we wanted but during these two days we filmed some in the light and some in the dark to see what we would prefer and what looks better. After doing that on the first day we looked at the footage on the second day and decided the daytime looks better therefore we redone bits so it looked more professional. Some of our good points during filming were that we came up with new ideas which will be shown in the final cut of our music video, such as in the song it talks about running from myself therefore we decided it would be a good idea to have the main character running from himself which shows our good editing skills in order to pull it off. A bad point from our filming day would be the first day when we recorded in the light the footage had a green tint to it therefore we had to redo them part which means we lost out on time and the overall time to film increased due to this but we managed to deal with it well. Overall filming was successful and if anything went better than we thought it was going to go the only thing we could have improved on was checking the footage whilst filming to see the green tint therefore we could have saved ourselves time however we sorted it in the end therefore everything was fine.

(POST 46) - Final Song Choice

The song choice we are using for the music video Naughty Boy - Runnin' (Lose It All) ft. BeyoncĂ©, Arrow Benjamin which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJSik6ejkr0

Is there a common theme to their videos?
This music video is based around two people trying to reach out to each other in the ocean, sea or some
kind of deep water. They don't really do much but run towards each other which is in the lyrics of the
music video. There is no common theme in there music videos compared to this one because it is very
unique to any other music video.

(POST 39) - Final, Final idea based on all our planning

A basic overview of our music video is that a guy is experiencing loneliness due to his girlfriend leaving him therefore due to this he doesn't know where to go as he feels so alone. From this we are going to show different shots of him trying to remove her from his life by burning photos and dropping them in rivers to show that he's trying to move on but is finding it hard to do so. We will use three locations in order to have variation in scenery and show that he's walking about a lot thinking about all the time. The costume and props are basic as we don't need to complicate them but make it realistic to the music video we want to create so having the teenage but at the same time represent loneliness of wearing dark clothing. The props will be a lighter and photos so that it can make it clear on what his thoughts are and also using the lighter adds in another kind of lighting type. The actor being used is Aaron, Harvey was there to be more of a backup if we couldn't find the time to use Aaron therefore he will be the character in the film. In regards to editing what we plan on doing so far is staying the same but when it comes down to editing the actual footage things can change due to new better ideas that make the video more creative. Therefore from all of this you can see a overview of what we are aiming to produce.

(POST 38) - Checkpoint 1 R&P Mark Scheme

This is the mark scheme

Level 4 16-20 marks
Planning and research evidence will be complete and detailed.
There is excellent research into similar products and a potential target audience.
There is excellent work on shotlists, layouts, drafting, scripting or story boarding.
There is excellent organisation of actors, locations, costumes or props.
Time management is excellent.
There is excellent skill in the use of digital technology or ICT in the presentation.
There are excellent communication skills.
There is an excellent level of care in the presentation of the research and planning

First blog post

The one thing that I liked the look of was the fact that everything is organised well with the script, everything that needs to be included is and to a high standard of detail. From the script you can also tell that the group have planned and researched what they want to do, especially from the detail in little detail column. Therefore from this piece of work I can compare it to the mark scheme and  say it is a strong level four due to seeing that they have planned and researched into the story line of the music video in excellent detail. Also you can tell that they have high standard work on the script which is shown in the mark scheme for level four. Furthermore, they have showed there use of ICT in presentation through creating a neat and tidy table which sectioned columns which shows their work clearly. Finally from the presentation you can see the level of care is high for researching and planning.

Second blog post

The one thing that I liked from this post was the detail and variety in costume. You can see from the screen shot that the detail in reasoning behind choosing the costume is very high, especially how they have explained each individual item for each character which shows that is has been completed to an excellent standard. Therefore from this piece of work I can compare it to the mark scheme and say it is a very high level four and my reasoning for it is the planning and researching into costume has been completed at a very high standard. You can also see that organisation of costume for their documentary is excellent and you can see from this work with the amount of detail on the post time management would have to be excellent in order to get all the posts in for the deadlines set. Finally the presentation from the post is clear and easy to read therefore I can give this piece of work a high level four mark when comparing it to the mark scheme above.
