(POST 1) - Our practise task explained

Our group: Luke Marchant, Jordan Rolf, Jack Kirby and Jordan Hayward - had to pull a nursery rhyme and a question randomly out of a hat. From the hat we pulled out Humpty Dumpty as the nursery rhyme and our question was 'What superpower would you have?'. Our task is to use these 2 stimuli to create a music video.

The group came to the decision that we are going to use a song by Logic called 1-800-273-8255. We believe this song will be great to use for our music video because it is a good pace so the video will look good while flowing well and represents our 2 stimuli extremely well.

The fact that this song is about someone who is suicidal -  hence why the name of the song is the suicide hotline number, links to the humpty dumpty stimulus as they are both hurt but in different ways. However, in the song the suicidal person meets someone and they make them happier again. In our opinion, someone being able to help someone so much that they no longer feel that way is like being a superhero who can save peoples lives

We do have other potential song choices that we thought could work or make a good video but we agreed that the song above will be most effective.

Coldplay - Fix you,

We thought of this song as a potential due to the fact that it is about fixing someone that has a problem ( just like humpty dumpty ). However, we believe this song is too slow for our liking and wouldn't be as effective for our music video.

 

 

Rudimental - Not giving in,

We considered this as an option to use as our video as we believed we could make a good video out of it as it gives you a lot of ideas and is a good pace; we think that this song does not link to our stimuli as well as the chosen song, as a result we will not be using this.
